Oh, can I really fix this myself? Well, actually when you say "edit the songs.dta file", which software can do the job? From threads I read, I always hear about Magma and Reaper but I don't know what their purpose is tbh.

So which software would you recommend please? ^^ I'll give it a try some night this week.

Notepad. :P

.dta files are plain text files. There should be an 'album' field present it in (especially in RB:HP tracks, where I add in the stuff that was not in the original files and added as on-disc upgrades).

xD Fair enough then, I can deal with Notepad. :c00l:

So I looked inside intoodeep.dta and it's sorted into "All Killer No Filler" without comma.

I was surprised and went to Rock Band song finder on the net. Actually, the problem comes from Fat Lip and not In Too Deep. I don't have access to my console during weekdays and it seems I messed up.

So the coma thing comes from Fat Lip, official DLC. I guess only you can take care of this minor problem then. ^^

You can copy Fat Lip off your Xbox, extract the songs.dta using Le Fluffie, edit it, and then make a new folder (under song info fixes or w/e) titled "fatlip". If the folder only has a songs.dta it's assumed to be a fix, so the packager will load it. :)

Just wanted to report that I followed your instructions and it worked, wouhou! I also got rid of the ö issue in Blue Öyster Cult name but forgot to take care of Maxïmo Park's ï which is also currently turned into ?i. >_<

So I was thinking: "hey, let's do the same for customs I'm in trouble with". Actually, Motörhead's Overkill and songs from Mötley Crüe that I downloaded in C3's database are all having the same trouble with the umlaut. Also, I have some other customs grabbed here and there having trouble with their album name only. Well, so I did the same thing as for Fat Lip and respected the name of each song in the songs.dta. Everything went fine after the cache rebuild and my changes appeared on screen. But as soon as I deleted the "dummy" file, some songs re-sorted badly. All the umlaut issues re-appeared but the songs I had trouble with the album names stayed fine. I don't understand what happens with these umlauts... The encoding parameter was set to latin1 everywhere, so I guess this is not the problem.

Anyway, actually not a RBHP issue (since I edited successfully your files) so I might be off topic but I wanted to report here because I used the dummy/upgrade packager tool to try to solve this sorting issue.

The encoding stuff is woefully unreliably at best, unfortunately, and I would love to know the exact steps Harmonix took to get it working all day erry day.

The BOC and Maximo Park songs /should/ be sorting correctly, so I'm surprised they aren't... but if they aren't and you get them fixed, fire them my way via e-mail and I'll replace the bad ones in the project.

I just installed the new upgrades from yesterday using the master file and found a small problem. If you copy all the harmony upgrades and then copy all the song info fixes from the optional upgrades, it breaks the harmonies on "Can't Let Go".
I don't know what that song info fix is for (just tonic info?), but if you don't copy it, then the harmonies show up.
If it's just tonic info, then I don't think that folder is necessary anymore.
I appreciate all the hard work.

Aside from demonstrating harmonies, here's a little trivia about the Rock Band 3 characters that have appeared in your YouTube channel so far.

Band debut:
  • 2012 August 13 - Unsigned Band (Player 1)
  • 2012 August 15 - Certified Public Anarchy (EspherOffline)
  • 2012 September 9 - Rock Band Harmonies Project (RBHarmProj)

First and most band appearances before RBHarmProj band: Dora Sullivan
First and most band appearances after RBHarmProj band: Zehvora
First and most often played vocalist before RBHarmProj band: Mothership Q
Most often played vocalist after RBHarmProj band: Cassidy Jones

As of this day, Miss Campbell Dee has not appeared in any of this channel's public videos.

Above information may be false due to some videos being blocked or otherwise overlooked.

Yeah, so, that's essentially because the first recording was done with no profiles in play, the second set was done with my old custom stick (hence the offline profile), and then I created a dedicated RBHP one.

The RBHP band is fairly static, though there was a point in time where I did try to swap the vocalists around to better fit the song... then I just got lazy because I was recording 20-30 videos a release. ;)

I believe it is just tonic info -- feel free to delete that folder. I'll bundle it up for a fix upload (or for the next release, depending) to make sure we clean it up. :)

Original Album - Sure.
Cover Art - Probably only for Tragic Kingdom, as I don't know if I can 'inject' new album art using the upgrade format.

You can't. It looks right at the disc for that info before any dta. That's why I had to change all the song IDs on those songs to give them their original album art.

I was playing Sick Sick Sick the other day, just testing upgrades and I noticed on scrolling mode, in several parts, but not all, when it says "don't resist", the text says "resist sist" or something like that. It looks normal on static vocals though.

That's weird, they should appear the same in both.

Well if you can give me the spots where they occur I can hide them in H3.

Sorry if this has been covered before but I'm having an odd issue getting it working... I've had it set up before but every so often with new customs/RBHP I just want to reset everything and do a clean install.

Well, at the moment after doing everything, everything works and I've deleted the Dummy file, but when I try to load a song with Harmonies in it, the game freezes. I have confirmed that it was the Dummy file and that the Upgrade package is still present.

Another problem, that could be related but that ultimately isn't important to me since I don't really play Pro Guitar, is that those upgrades don't show up either.

Any advice here? :S
