First of all, let me thank you all for your interest in contributing to this project. We've received a lot of interest and a lot of prospective content, and it's caused us to take a step back and make sure we've got things set up the way we want them to set up to ensure that the content is delivered as efficiently and with as high a quality level as possible.

We will be looking to add both authors and playtesters to our stable in the very near future. We're in the process of finalizing things on the back end related to this process, and then one of us will be back here to give you all the juicy details. ;)

Thanks again for your support, and keep on rocking (or whatever other cliché fits best here).

Well I was hoping I could send some of my customs your way and get the venue and other difficulties added. I have a massive Megadeth pack (8 to be exact) and even an Avenged Sevenfold pack (with full vocals\harmonies) I would love to get them released through you guys and become a part of this amazing team of people.

i have some customs that are DONE ( for me ) but just in expert , i really would like to send them to someone to check them and say this is ok or not before releasing ( maybe thats why almost all of my customs are just videos for youtube and never published lol )
few songs i have done are :
Belive -AAR
Exo-politics ( muse ( guitar and bass taken from gh3 so its muti track file and i added drums and vocals and a small part for pro keys)
houdini- foster the people ( its done , Nyxyxylyth help me alot with his advices but for reasons i posted is not available yet )
Party rock anthem - LMFAO ( i just did it for fun so almost everything is messed up )
and im working on :
This fire burns - killswitch engage
Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me - U2
Memories- weezer
Maria - Blondie
Again - lenny kravitz
Lo que mereces - saiko ( yeah its a band from my country )

so if someone wants to try and playtest the customs that are "DONE" just send me a PM and tell me what u think or what sucks :P

When things are ironed out, I'll be contributing the three Fairwood Studios fell-through-for-RBN-even-though-we-somehow-got-stems tracks:

The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza - "I Am Sammy Jankis"
The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza - "Yippie-Kay-Yay Motherf@#$%"
Midimidis - "There's Just Far Too Much Going on Upstairs for Me to Feel Comfortable with Myself"

...Even with customs I can't do hits. :P They won't be multitracks, though, primarily out of cover-my-ass-ness with the labels.

I may also wind up with the freedom to do a little QA for people, if they don't mind QA occasionally meaning "complete rewrite to actually meet standards".

I would love to be a playtester :) but if someone would be kind enough to teach me custom charting in the future, I would make some customs too. But for now I'll stick to playtesting :P

As of right now, the google docs dont have the "submission" section. I understand that C3 is looking for full band artists, but I will be undoubtedly be creating a high volume of expert drum charts. Where can I/should I continue to drop these songs at? Even if its not related to C3

The spreadsheet got thrashed, no idea why or by whom. However, we're working on something that goes beyond the scope of C3. In the meantime, I suppose you can recreate a Submission sheet over there.

I have no experience with any part of authoring, and I'm looking for a place to start, even if it's just a baby step. I have to start somewhere. Any advice?

Track down the docs (or hope Creators comes back up), get all the needed software, and start trying to following along with them using a simple song with a fixed bpm.

Someone @ Reddit pointed me to the cached docs here. No pictures, though, but should be more than enough to get you started.

It would probably be a good idea to archive that somewhere; I feel like creators.rockband.com isn't coming back. No inside info or anything, just a hunch.

Also for people who want to playtest would we need to pay for a membership or is there any way to go around this?

Pay for membership... where?

With RBN, you have to have an XNA membership.

But to author customs, you have to have RB3Maker and Modio. That's it.

I just started learning to author. I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm currently working on Rush's The Anarchist. Most of the pro drums I have down on paper, just need to transcribe it to reaper. I'll most likely make it a summer project to chart most/all of Rush's Clockwork Angels. I'd be happy to submit everything.

I'm also down for playtesting guitar/bass/pro drums on expert.

I am curious about learning to do EMH charts for songs that need them.

Specifically, the Rush discog project. I posted over on the XBOX360 ISO forums about helping. I know he only does expert only.

I have zero experience with any of the software. But am willing to learn. This project is crazy awesome and feel like I should give back something for what you guys are doing. Hopefully if I get comfortable enough with doing it I will end up doing customs of my own.

Hey there! I actually do all difficulties but not for the Rush songs because that's a different project for different purposes. However, if someone else can do those, I will bring the albums with all difficulties to full band delight.

So, thanks for the offer! Here's the course of action:
1) Download Reaper, the audio software ypu will use for any authoring purposes, and the plug in:
https://www.dropbox....hme7/8yrrIgQnHr

2) Install everything and give a GOOD read to the Creators docs' reduction rules (you will find them here: http://www.keepitfis... ... mTools.zip).

3) Open the Xanadu Reaper package I've uploaded here: http://keepitfishy.c...p?51764fbf222a9
That's the final project, so you can see how reductions work in a "real environment". In doubt though, always take the rules over the project, because rules weren't written while rushing to deliver the Friday release...

After that, wait for me to send you a cleaned up Rush songs so that you can test your skills on a solid project (tonight probably).

However, please consider that we either do this on an album by album basis, or we don't do this at all. This only makes sense if we at least go through it to do full albums: doing some single songs is not worth it, so take a step back and assess how much you want to do so neither of us wastes any time. I would be thrilled to go back and add the missing instruments to release full band, all difficulties Rush albums through C3 but I need commitment on your part. ;)
