I would like to know if there is anything beyond the basics to be taught. I want to know which FX are recommended for each instrument on Reaper, this will make it a lot easier to align the notes with the song's timing as the RBN preview isn't as accurate as I thought.
I have a question about the animations in general, is it normal sometimes for the band's presentation to be replaced by special graphic effects? What about this alternate performance background, can I choose which one will be shown during the gameplay?  :shobon:

Lots to unpack...

There's a ton beyond the basics to be taught. But the more accurate statement is there is a ton beyond the basics to be learned. Two years later and I'm still learning things beyond the basics. I could sit here and probably write a ton of advanced stuff to think about, but it's just been two years of compilation. So I'll just give some stuff in reference to some of your points.

FX: There are 5 FXs I don't live without. W1 Limiter, Liteon/bassmanager, loser/CenterCanceler, ReaEQ, ReaPitch. Without these, I couldn't author. And I say that with a straight face. They are priceless. Literally too, they don't cost a thing. =-)

RBN Preview: Has always been dead accurate to me. If it's off, consider there may be something off in your charts. Best suspect...your tempo map. Always bulletproof before you move on or prepare for headaches throughout (and more than likely starting over).

Animations: If you set your venue track well, you should get what you expect. Very little have I seen that it has usurped my choices. The random director cuts will play various things, but that should be the only thing that is unexpected (and most times can be expected).

Background: Not sure on that one. I don't recall ever setting it and the game always playing THAT background. In fact, it never does IIRC.

For the timing you don't need any FX. Just the waveform and tempo markers... If you need more precision, zoom in, you can zoom in quite alot.

what is each of these for? I have a lot but I have no idea what utility it is for. And what can you tell me about the Venue Camera track? there are a lot of abbreviations there besides the instruments accompanied by hand / head / near / behind and so on. after considerable space has the D_ accompanied by other instruments with other abbreviations. Do you know where I can find something detailed? with subtitles if possible.

But FX helps a lot, I just managed to finish adjusting Vocals and Real Keys because of this tool. And even at maximum zoom does not help so much because even slowing the music the playback line runs fast and it is difficult to know at what time the tone played the note.

I would say the *default* FX are essential: the limiter on audio track makes it sound better in-game, the pitcher is a colossal aid for charting and verifying vocals and ProKeys, and the lanes visualizer is good for quick-testing (in my case it revealed a lot of micro-misalignments of notes in drums by showing tom gems in ProDrums where there should have been cymbals).

Unless you have multiple audio stems, equalizers FX are also very useful for focusing on different instruments.

I don't understand what you mean by timing then, because a tempo map will affect all tracks not just one.

If you mean the location of the notes, idk... worst case scenarion I tap my hand on my desk to firgure it out.
