TL;DR

"The formula I came up with takes the number of positive lyrical elements in a song, and divides that by how much a song deviates from 150 bpm and from the major key," - Dr. Jacob Jolij.

  1. Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
  2. Dancing Queen - ABBA
  3. Good Vibrations - Beach Boys
  4. Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
  5. Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
  6. I'm a Believer - Monkees
  7. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
  8. Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
  9. I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor
  10. Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves

All of those are disc songs or official DLC except for I Will Survive and I'm a Believer.

The lack of either Sam, Dave or anything related to Madness on there makes this list unlikely to the represent the actual top 10. Scientific fact!
-pulls a snooty face-
Also, who could ever care what some dutch ponce has to say?
Some really great songs there though.
Now if only the studio version of Good Vibrations would grace our Rock Band libraries.

No Jackie Wilson.  No James Brown.  No Isley Brothers, either.

When this happens, somebody will need to figure out how to hack the Kinect to make a theremin instrument peripheral for this song.

Hate to be a party pooper but technically they used an electro-theremin which while still a cool instrument wouldn't be nearly as fun with a Kinect.

I actually like the live version because the harmonies and electro-theremin come out more.

No Jackie Wilson.

This man is correct. "I get the sweetest feeling" has been stuck in my head for the better part of the day and it is welcome to stay there.

For me, "Lonely Teardrops" always comes to mind when I hear Jackie Wilson's name.

Imagine my excitement when I saw the actor (don't recall the actor's name) that did Jackie in "La Bamba' performing my favorite J. Wilson song! The performance and the voice over rendition was pretty well done I might add! :D

How cool is that! I'll check it out.
Good to know Lonely teardrops is your favourite. It is high on my wishlist as well. Right after his big three (for me at least: Higher and Higher, Reet Petite and IGTSF).
I love the energy that guy brings/brought to his songs and performances.

I totally agree with your sentiments on J. Wilson's energy. Indeed those are his best songsI  I love his style.... Unquestionably, the man just  knew how to 'bring it'!

Thank you sam and jimi for mentioning these soulful greats!

You live across half the country, Farottone lives across half the world. Good luck on getting me out more, muahahaha.

Also please, I know people younger than me that are as anal as Vulcans on technicality.

I just wanted to add that technically correct is the best kind of correct.

That is all.

You'd be surprised........I have a few Vato nephews out there in Denver that wouldn't mind doing Tio a favor if I called and asked! ;)

While I don't really have a counterpoint to that statement and I agree with it roughly 90% of the time.......

Age has blessed me with a silly sense of humor which I found difficult to accept when I was younger because of all the pressure put upon me to always get it right!

Flawed as we human beings are....if we care enough to want to understand one another, the point eventually gets across....and with it a much deeper (and sometimes funnier) understanding than just the 'technicality' of those lights being out.  :D
