I was doing well until I got to this part but these instructions have me completely baffled? Is there further clarification for this somewhere? I feel I am very close to getting this completed

Folder structure... Yeah that could be a little vague at first. Basically, it's how your song folders should be organized. Using the packing tools and sample song as a base, you add more folders with new songs in them. The tools make the necessary files out of these folders, so you'll see how this becomes useful.
Let me get a screenshot of what mine looks like.
See how it looks like the starting folder I provide? You add on, incrementing the number each time. And actually, seeing as how one of the files is 500 KB, I may have been wrong about the cutoff mark before that file stops getting read because it loaded just fine for me right now.

So, what should i be changing so that i can load these onto a PAL iso?
Just rename anything that is sZFE to sZFP yeah?

Well, it's about time I prepare the PAL package.

Get that. It's just like the one used in the guide for NTSC regions, but for PAL. Just make sure you have the sZFP wad installed. It's very easy to find. Of course, I only left blank placeholder files for the common-key and ng_id files like before and you'll have to fill these in yourself. The sample song packs to a bin in that test, but it's untested beyond that. It should work though. Oh, and you probably won't get RBHP like this either. That requires a whole set of new dta files and is just a tremendous amount of extra work.

But keep checking the DB for new Wii converts. Stuff is getting added all the time. Plus, dead link fixes!

Hi guys! this is awesome, I can't wait to start playing customs on my Wii :D

however its a bit too much of preparation before i can play them, I thought it was really simple like just adding the songs directly to my SD card? I already have the softmodding programs on it (that unlocks all DLC)

can someone please guide me? What programs do I need and not?

You download the packing tools so you can start producing your own bin files. You can even just load these onto your SD card since you're already prepared. You will need to use FSToolbox when you need to reload the song cache though.

Hi guys. I followed the tutorial but I am stuck where the bin file is created. Only one bin file is created and its name is 000.bin. The tutorial says I should have 052.bin and 053.bin. Did I do something wrong? The tutorial says "if you set up for packing those" but, I don't know if I did setup up for that because I just followed the tutorial. Any suggestions? Thx

In packdlc.bat, you add the folder name there. The samples should be included there already. Make sure you have all the files necessary. Show me a screenshot of the folder contents.

I edited the packdlc.bat file and inserted this:

u8it 054_00000036_far_sweetchildomine_meta 00000036.app -pack
u8it 055_00000037_far_sweetchildomine_song 00000037.app -pack

wadpacker 52 203

As you can see from the pic, those are the numbers from the folders that contain the song I want to pack.

So, 00000036.app and 00000037.app were created but, not the 054 or 055 bin files.

I don't know if I did the common key file step correctly and if that has anything to do with it. there were no instructions on how to do that so I opened the common key file with Wordpad and entered entered a key (ebe42a225e8593e448d9c5457381aaf7) which supposed to be known by all wiis.

Change 52 to 54 because you skipped 52 and the wadpacker stops if it doesn't find an app to pack.

Thank you for the help. I played my first custom!

Couple of questions:

1) Why is the file 000.bin still created? Can I delete this file?

2) Can I delete the created .app files? I'm guessing I can.

I ran into some problems trying to add a song into the same slot I made for my first custom which is slot 054.

When, trying to use Lefluffie and following the steps on the guide, I get an error message saying "Destination folder is not in the correct format". I have the folders for the first custom I packed in the original DLCPacker2.0 Folder and tried to use that as my destination folder. I also made a new folder just for my unpacked songs but, that didn't work either. What am I doing wrong?

I tried doing it manually by placing the sZFE\054\ path in the new songs dta file, which was the path I used for my first custom but, that didn't work. I see the song listed in Rock Band 3 but, when I try to load it, it says something like it "can't refresh the new song into the wii system memory".

I did manage to successfully refresh my cache but of course, that didn't solve the problem I am having.

I can't see what's wrong with the folder format as is. All the releases should merge properly with the folder merger. You have to click on the song's folder you want to merge with, in this case 054. Make sure you're not setting the packer as the destination folder.

I figured out how to merge the folders via LeFluffie but, I am still getting the same error messege when I am inside Rockband 3. I see the new song I merged but, I can't preview it and, when I choose my instruments and it begins to load, I get the error messege "can't load/refresh [song name here] into Wii system memory.

What am I doing wrong?

When merging, it could be keeping the song preview file for both songs. Make sure your _meta folder doesn't turn into an app file that is bigger than 400 KB. If that's not it, make sure the _song folder isn't bigger than 40 MB, as that would also cause the same problem.

I checked everything you said and the numbers are ok. Are the preview files the ".mogg" files?

This is what the merger looked liked from LeFluffie:

There is a mogg file in each of the song folders. Is that what is causing the problem? Also, Do I replace the first bin file I made for my first song with the second bin file that I made for the second song? Is the first song also in the new bin file?

It might be the previews then because those 2 songs should be able to exist in the same folder. Preview files end as _prev.mogg. When you repack the folders with the changes you made, it should make new BIN files. Check the date modified on it and you should notice it change. Use the updated files on your SD card and the game should read them.

Ok so let me see if I got this straight.

1) I need to remove one of the mogg files before I make the new bin files.

2) I then remove the old bin file in the sZFE folder of my SD card because the newly created bin file has both songs in it?

3) Why do I need to remove the mogg file in the merged folder if that folder isn't even in my SD card.

4) Since I will remove a mogg file, does that mean I won't be able to preview any song except the one that I DO leave the mogg file for?

Everything looks correct, so that's why I'm assuming you just didn't have the latest built bin files on your SD card. Sure, it won't play a preview for the song you take out its preview for, but its a small price to pay.
Remember that your song folders become app files, then bin files.

Actually, I did have the new BIN files in my SD card but, I also had the ones for my first song. I also did reset the cache. So I need to remove the mogg file before making the new bin files?
