samjjones' WIP Stuff (3/20/16 Queen - "Flash (Single Version)", Frida - "I Know There's Something Going On")

Recommended Posts

Hi guys - I'll use this thread to track any stuff that's in WIP status. All are posted as-is; if you'd like to help "finish them off" with missing vocals/drums/keys/etc., please drop me a line. I would *love* some collaboration/help. I'll post links to all project files as well for easy access. I'll also add them to the db so people know who to contact if they want to

help with missing parts.

Queen - "Flash (Single Version)" UPDATE

Credit: Banzai 85 for guitar, Sideshow for drums, samjjones for bass/ unpitched vocals, Dash Riprock for better bass

WIP CON file: http://customscreators.com/index.php?/page/index.html/_/flash-single-version-r11866

Note: Unpitched vocals added. There is a bug in my HARM 3 vocal midi; @ measures 41-43. The lyrics in this section are not showing in-game. They show in single-vocal mode, but not in harmonies mode. I'd appreciate any thoughts on how to fix. I'm re-reading the "Harmony Authoring" documentation, specifically the "Phrase Markers in Harmony Tracks", but haven't found fix yet. I'd also appreciate any gameplay feedback you guys may have. Thanks. Also, there's a big, sexy update coming to Gerry Rafferty "Right Down The Line" pretty soon.

Awesome samjjones. Thanks for sharing

I am a big fan of Musicgeekxyz's FOF charts. I have converted many of them.

He usually puts vocal placements in most songs & they are fairly easy to make at least unpitched vocals which is better than no vox. All you have to do is insert the vocal tubes.& align them for anyone interested in trying.

Two quick notes:

1) I discovered an audio synch issue in the first version of "Right Down The Line". I've (hopefully) fixed it and updated the CON link in the db entry. If you've already downloaded the CON and/or .RPP, please re-download.

2) A super fantastic person has added drums, vocals, and elevated the overall quality of "Abracadabra". Look for an update and details in the very near future!

welp you now broke my heart with Shot in The Dark not being FB :(, lol thanks anyway.

That's why these are in my "WIP" thread :)

This is a great community. I've already had a couple of people PM me about certain songs that I've posted this weekend that they'd like to contribute on to help make full band. Lots of people love Ozzy, so you never know...

"Abracadabra" is now full band, thanks to the amazing Dash Riprock.

This whole thing happened (from conception to completion) over the course of a long weekend, and I'm continually amazed by how helpful, enthusiastic, and downright awesome this community is. Enjoy, everybody.

I can't think of the authors name but he requested the project files for Flash back right after I first converted it. I never heard from him after that.

Update: Think the authors name is Gabivador.

Sideshow...in your thread, you listed "Banzai 85" as the source of the Flash guitar track. If it's really "Gabivador", please confirm, so that we can have proper crediting. Thanks!

No you have it right. Banzai 85 did the guitar. Vocals was potentially going to be done by Gabivador but they so far havn't come to fruition.

Interesting fact: Phil Collins played drums for Frida's "I know there's something going on" and Frida is 1/4 of ABBA for those who didn't know.

Another interesting fact about the Bob Welch "Sentimental Lady" track...

Mick Fleetwood was invited to play the drums for this song on Welch's 1977 album. The re-recording of the song featured Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac as backing singers[4] and producers (with Buckingham additionally doing the arrangement as well as serving on guitar), but unlike the original which had 2 verses, Welch's solo version only had 1 verse to cut it down to less than 3 minutes for the final radio cut.

Sam,

Thanks very much for sharing the songs you've been charting. Some very good songs & bands, been enjoying them !

I plan on trying to learn how to chart drums this summer if I can find the time to learn Reaper ?

Perhaps I can add drums to your awesome charts once I learn the ropes of charting with your permission of course........ :)

Thanks again for your time & great work !

"Flash" bass line quality has been improved, thanks to the generous Mr. Riprock. Not uploaded yet.

I've started work on the talky/movie audio drop-in sections of vocals. Putting in unpitched placeholders for Freddie for now ;)
