- Added support for PS3 Guitar Hero 5 kit
- Added Guitar Hero 5 layout
- Added (rough) simulated Rock Band style chart style - right-click on the track and select from the two choices
- Force closed hi-hat now works when using a drum kit as well as when using the mouse and keyboard to play the drum samples
- Overdrive phrases are now drawn on the track, along with being noted on the notes themselves
- Modified the way drum fills are drawn
- Modified default RB2+ layout for a nicer look
- A few other minor improvements

Someone asked on Reddit if it could be made to look like how Rock Band shows the notes. I tried my best. Keep in mind that Rock Band / Phase Shift / Guitar Hero are games with 3D highways and the ability to do things in 3D space. This is a 2D app in .NET, sooo it doesn't look quite as good as the real thing :haw:

Enjoy.

The new rock band chart style is pretty cool. You going to add Stereoscopic 3D support in the future? :P

v1.4.0
- Added velocity sensitivity for drums that may support it - to disable it (you don't like it or your drums don't support it) go to Options and uncheck 'Hit velocity controls sample volume' - thanks to Phase Shift developer David for his guidance on this
- Improved extracting and reading of DTA and MOGG files for increased speed and reduced hard drive usage - thanks to Maxton for the suggestion and code sample

I'm not sure how useful or accurate the velocity sensitivity will be, so it's optional. My main goal with this update was really to implement the new code for extracting from CON files directly to memory rather than to temporary files. Thanks to Maxton for that.

v1.5
- Added Stage Kit support - works with whatever way you use Rok Drummer, you can click on a pad, you can use the keyboard, you can play your game drums, you can have it auto-play along to a song - either way, the Stage Kit will light up accordingly if enabled
- Fixed layout bugs for the RB1 and the GH5 kits

The Stage Kit is too much fun to not add to this. Watch the video in the OP to see me flailing at the end to showcase how it interacts with the Stage Kit :what:

With the change in the forum software the old links broke, so clicking on the C3 Forums link in the program won't bring you here. If that bothers you, re-download the program - I've corrected that.

Nothing else was changed, so no version change and I won't issue an update.

PS4 RB4 Drums

Red Pad: Button A

Yellow Pad: Button X
Blue Pad: Button Y

Green Pad: Button B

Kick: Left shoulder (holding down the pedal does insanely fast kick sounds for some reason instead of just 1)

Hello guys.

I'm impressed by all the features you have included in this software.

I just bought a RB drum set and with this software my little kids are playing a lot of time.

But as I'm new with this things I have no idea about what steps to follow to get a few songs to play like it can be seen in the youtube video.

Can anybody help me with this?

Some of the difficulties I have may be due trr the fact that I'm far away to be a musician, even an amateur one.

And in the other hand, I'm not used to this music games, I have no game console.

Thanks and regards

I'm quite surprised to hear this. It seems like you found this software from something or somewhere not related to Rock Band? This is created to use the Rock Band drums, and it uses Rock Band files to play along to. It will somewhat mimic the Rock Band method of showing you the instrument charts as well. So if you know the game, it should be pretty intuitive. You can download any of the songs from our database on here, and just drag/drop them to the program and click play. But that assumes you know what customs are, how our database works, how a multitrack song will allow you to mute the original drums vs one with stereo audio that won't, etc. So you have to learn about the game itself and about what we do here, which is create and share customs (unofficial) tracks for the game. Do some research. I can offer help and advice with my program, but I won't go into hand holding when it comes to the basics of Rock Band and customs in general.

Your'e right, I found this software looking for some cheap way to get a drum set to let my kids practice a little at home.

I know nothing about the game so I'll follow your advice and do some research about the game.

I just would like to know if there's some place were I could download a few tracks to play with rok drummer.

Or just know the file extension that I should search for.

Regards

You're in the place. Top of the navigation pane, "Customs" - anything that has a drum track charted can be used with Rok Drummer.

You still didn't say where you found this software. Did you get here from Google? Reddit? Somewhere else?

Don't expect any additions to this any time soon. Last update to it was over a year ago, because I'm pretty content with what it is and I don't have the time to dedicate to it. Sorry.

Hey ,this is a great program.

I know that there's no update in a long time but I'm having issues when opening Rok Drummer in low resolution monitors.

The screen was cut off with play-along mode so I'm not be able to see completely the charts being played. I'm hoping that you could address this issue.

Thanks in advance.

I have no plans to update the software, much less to accommodate low resolution screens. I use 4K on my end. It should work fine on 1080P as well. I'm not considering anyone else with a lower resolution in 2017. Sorry.

I'm officially ending support for the program. It's been obvious, but putting the fine point on it.

Not sure what you're asking. You don't get charts for it. You use customs. Throw the CON file at it and that's it.
