The RB2USB option is typically in the upper left corner of the C3 CON Tools' main window, unless you've customized the program to show it elsewhere.  If you do not see it there, let us know exactly how you installed and run C3 CON Tools, and maybe someone can help figure out what's going wrong.

I installed C3 CON tools from the link on this forum provided by TrojanNemo. I also installed RAR from the provided link. I believe the C3 is running from RAR because it will not open at all unless that program is active. I have seen the page on this forum with the rb to usb  and other option boxes. That is the whole issue i'm having, I can never get to that page at all. It just takes me to a file location with setlist and other download options and that is it. I can try to post an image of what i'm seeing if that helps... It just seems like the initial C3 Tools page that is supposed to open automatically never does.

You need to extract the files from the rar files, and then run C3 CON Tools outside of the rar file.

Excuse my ignorance but that is the part I have no idea how to do. How do I properly extract them, what do I extract them to? How do I run C3 separately? I cant get it to open or do anything at all outside of the rar menu..

Use WinRAR, 7zip, Winzip etc. Extract files. Double click on c3tools.exe or whatever i called the executable. It will be a .exe file and it will have a C3 icon. This only works on Windows. If nothing happens make sure your antivirus isn't deleting my program because it thinks its a virus. If it runs then you'll have the many options to click on for whatever you want to do. Problems once the program starts are program problems. Problems before it starts are your computer problems and not something we can help much with.

hey all - I am contemplating buying a JTAG'd xbox  - is there any benefit to having one for customs over a regular 360 other than not requiring the disk everytime you want to play ?

are you able to increase the song limit ?

I don't think there is. As far as I know the only platform where you can break the song limit is Wii/Dolphin.

Though a JTAG'd console has some benefits: You will most likely be able to use FTP to transfer files, as opposed to always unplug and re-plug a USB drive. You will be able to play custom songs on Rock Band Blitz. I'm not sure if there's other benefits on xbox.

Hey, is it possible to just load other songs on a separate flash drive and use both flash drives full of custom content at once?

Never mind I'm stupid, just moved it all to my hard drive.

I just want to thank everyone that is apart of this. Not sure why I never put any effort into looking for custom tracks etc... Can’t wait to get started!

Customs will work with no title update, or any title update prior to TU5.  However, Magma-generated venues will only work with TU4 or higher.  So, if you want your customs to have proper animations, you'll need TU4.  If you don't care, you can use any title update, though be aware the game is more likely to crash or glitch out for other reasons if you don't use the latest possible update.

Hey all, first off, I'm a long time custom user so I want to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication towards adding so many new songs over the years!

I had a question about an issue I've run into today and I'm wondering if there's a limit of customs outside of the 2952 built into the game.

The reason I ask, is because I run all of my songs off of a USB stick and had about 1800 songs (plus the 83 on disc). I have increased the USB stick to about 2845 songs today (with the 83, puts me right around 2930 songs, so should still be under the limit.)

Now the difference is that when I fire up RB3, it stays at the start screen in between the opening video and the main dashboard for in eternity and never passes it.

I'm left wondering why 1800 customs worked but 2800 doesn't, is there a custom limit?

I have gone through everything over the last 2 days. Started fresh with the usb stick and no other HDD or memory is connected, so no cache to clear. Added all songs in small groups to be able to pinpoint any troublesome ones and only ran into about 6 out of 2800. The file viewer on Xbox shows every file, so they definitely seem to be reading...just can't get the game to fire up.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the repeat post, as I kind of suspected it just took a realllllly long time to build up a new cache. Took almost an hour to load the game and its been another 25-30 mins "finding downloadable content."

2503 found so far, almost there! :)

You might want to package those songs. You can have like 10 files (packs) load at runtime and it's super fast. This way you're doing it it's bound to take forever as it reads each file individually.

Thanks so much for the advice TrojanNemo...honestly I've had and used the C3 tools for years and never really explored it beyond the "usbtoRB" tab haha.  I'm currently working on going through everything and creating packs and am hoping for significant load time improvement!

Sorry again for the double post, but it loaded everything in like 30 seconds!  Incredible, thanks again!
