"None" is at even money.

I guess the PS4 and Xbox One are St. Elmo's Fireproof.

Yes, but they're also from Harmonix and Boston-area bands, which are kind of a special exception.

Why and how would the songs for RB4 affect the songs for earlier games? They're not going to touch the existing songs that anyone playing RB3 can access. These updated songs will only be for RB4.

For the love of all that is holy would people please stop thinking Rock Band 4 uses the same files you have actually downloaded for Rock Band 3? If you buy Rock Band 4 you will have to download all songs you used to own for RB3 *in Rock Band 4 format*. Nothing is done to RB3 files, the only reason you can "keep" your bought songs is because you bought the license to those songs and the license give you access to Rock Band 4 files.

I didn't know if Harmonix themselves would delist the RB3 versions in favor of the RB4-ready versions come launch time. That's the only reason I asked. Yikes.

If they did that then nobody on RB3 could keep buying the existing songs. That wouldn't be a smart idea.

Fair point.

I feel bad for those that invested so much into all the products that were for RB3 (Mustang/Squier guitar, Keyboard) only to have them be compatible for only one game in the entire Rock Band series. Without C3 and RB:HP providing all the greatness, it would seem like a wasted investment in hindsight.

What's more interesting about the relaunch of Guitar Hero and Rock Band is that they seem to be swapping gaming scenarios, like how GH: Live is going for playing with real bands and how RB4 is supposed to have some RPG mode, like GH did for Warriors of Rock (which I have never played; I stopped playing GH after III and some of Aerosmith), I think.

There are no plans to leave RBHP unfinished.

I do not have a timeline for when the core RBHP project itself (legacy harmonies) will be 'finished' and released.

So correct me if I'm wrong - RB3 will get the remaining harmony upgrades?

The harmonies as provided by Harmonix will be playable on RB4 only. What will be available by Harmonix themselves on RB3 will be the standard tracks. RBHP's work up to that point will be accessible for us to use manually for RB3.

That's what it sounds like.

That is the plan.
