LATEST UPDATE 6/22 - Frank Friday's - Zoot Allures, Inca Roads FIXfrank-zappa-banner.jpg

ALL INSTRUMENTS: nsw1-6

Audio Source Lineage: 1976 Analog Master -> 2012 Bob Ludwig Remaster ->  UMe CD -> WAV -> Audacity (for EQ and Normalizing) -> WAV
Additional Notes: And here we have one of the final missing "signature tunes" of Zappa's personal discretion, one of his many solo vehicles performed live. First introduced as a set of chords in some late '74 Mothers performances, Zappa tweezed the composition and fleshed it out by late '75, recording it in the studio for the "Night of the Iron Sausage" double LP (later spliced down to what was later known as Zoot Allures). He then immediately put it on the backbruner, rarely touching it live until the 1981-82 tours, where he resurrected it as a standard until 1984, where only on the Last Tour were there some sporadic performances, the last known being June 7th 1988.

UPDATE 6/22: Fixed guitar, drums, and outro vocals phrasing error.

"Inca Roads" is one of Frank Zappa's most cherished, covered, and appreciated pieces. It allied his ability to write a catchy song with his mastery of complex music forms, making it a favorite among progressive rock fans (who are not always kind for the man's music) and virtuoso ensembles. The lyrics begin on a UFO theme: "Did a vehicle/Come from somewhere out there/Just to land in the Andes?," referring to South American architectural structures some believed were landing sites for flying saucers. But quickly the song takes a dive into "life on the road." The word "vehicle" is replaced by "booger-bear," a title given to the band member who ended up with the ugliest groupie the previous night (which makes it the contrary of "Bwana Dik"). The name of drummer Chester Thompson comes up in regards to that, as it will again under similar circumstances in "Florentine Pogen." The song ends with a tutti "On Ruth!," a wink at percussionist Ruth Underwood's amazing marimba fireworks in the finale.

LATEST UPDATE 5/19 - Temple of the Dog - Times of Trouble

“Times of Trouble” is the closest Temple of the Dog gets to a power ballad. Cornell’s impassioned vocal makes the lyrics—aimed at a friend who’s finding solace in a needle and its accompanying “world in black"—absolutely wracked with pain.

Oh heck, I just realized Too High gives album sorting to Innervisions!

what do you mean?

I mean that if you own the officially released DLC songs "Higher Ground" and "Living for the City," that they, along with your custom should make 3 songs from that album, the number that appear album-sorted in game.

It's not a big thing, but I like seeing it.

There is a real embarrassment of riches with drum customs today. Awesome to see more from Bruce and Stevie, even if it's not stuff I'm familiar with.

Great update. Mastodon usually never disappoints on drums. I already had a custom of Capillarian Crest but don't remember if it had pro markers or not. I know a few of the Mastodon customs I have doesn't have pro markers so will be great to get rid of them with your versions.

Is the guitar chart on capillarian crest a new creation or a convert from an old chart?

I have a guitar/drum custom of it already, and I only want to play guitar, and I'm not sure if they're two different versions or you only changed the drums or something

circle of cysquatch doesn't seem to work, says the song data is unavailable/restarts the session. maybe that's just me though

the part before the solo in crystal skull with scott kelly is charted wrong but that's just a fanboy complaint, i doubt many will notice or care :). nice work though man, it's especially nice to have a single pedal version of capillarian crest since I'm still stuck with just one

I updated the drums to pro and 2 pedal. The guitar is untouched

circle of cysqatch is messed up. I had it working in single pedal but now its not. I'm going to work on it. I'll take a look at Crystal skull. Accuracy is paramount :)

it's not too off, just missing a bit of accuracy on the toms. there's a vid on youtube of brann playing it, at the start here

also shows him playing capillarian crest's bridge which is badass as hell

Thanks for the great new stuff. :) One quick thing: please don't use the Convert badge for conversion from customs, that badge is intended for songs converted from other official games/releases. ;)
