Your on a roll with the GH Converts. That happens to be my fav Third Eye Blind song and the Deep Purple selection looks delicious. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the Deep Purple track! Any chance you can do a GH convert of Burn or Hush by Deep Purple?

So what is it about these that don't make them up to C3 standards? Are they around as decent as other non C3 customs generally are?

I don`t worry about Events, Animations, lighting ETC.

I believe so yes, I haven`t had to many complaints.
I do very little changes to the file. I run it through Midi cleaner which fixes 99.989999% of the errors. I fix the rest to get it through Magma.

Guitar Hero conversions are mainly about:
- Pro drums notes
- Open bass notes translation
- Fixing chordy guitar charts
- Fixing crazy tempo maps
- Venue and events
- Adding Harmonies
- Adding Keys/Pro Keys
- Fixing lyrics issues
- Fixing reductions
- Fixing sustains length
- OD, BRE and drums OD activation

So anybody can tick off what they do to tell he difference between a complete conversion and a quick one.

In addition to what Farottone said, I'd also add that pretty much every song needs to have almost all vocal tubes adjusted. They either start too early/late and/or end too early/late. Also some pitches may be off from time to time. Plus, phrase markers often need re-doing as they can often be too many of them.

With that said, what spindoctor is doing is fantastic and I hope he keeps going. The songs are multitrack and entirely playable. That's enough for me to add them to the library.

Lastly, I wanna throw out a request for more Van Halen! A GH:VH Pack containing Beautiful Girls, Feel Your Love Tonight, Ice Cream Man, I'm the One (#1 most wanted VH here) and Jamie's Crying to name a few... :D

I second both of these sentiments. I have downloaded many of Spindoctor's GH converts and although they may not have all the bells and whistles of the C3 releases, they are still very playable and much appreciated additions to my RB library. I also would love to see some more GH:VH converts. Those songs are just too iconic not to be given the RB treatment, especially since that GH game engine was already outdated before it was even released (such a bummer).
In any case, BIG THANKS to Spindoctor for all the great work :excited:

So by events, do you mean camera cuts? CAT would be able to generate the animations but if there's no camera cuts then these aren't for me.

I know these aren't for everybody, but quite a few people download them. That's good enough for me. At this stage of the games existence die hard game lovers seem happy to get any new tunes for the game in my opinion.

I played Graduate, Addicted, and Woman From Tokyo on Pro Drums and they all seem to have the same issues. All the blue cymbals dont have Pro Tom Markers on them. The green toms seem to be ok. I also noticed roll lane markers on single notes. Finally, there doesnt seem to be enough drum fill activiations for OD. This is stuff we already talked about Spindoctor. This stuff isnt major time consuming to fix but I am grateful as most of the other players here to be getting these in the current condition that they are released. All the songs are still extremely playable.

Cool for you, I don't mean to put him down.

With the CAT tools, it's so easy to put out much fuller charts, I just wanted to make sure of how far he was going with his customs, and venue options matter to me. Maybe with the CAT tools available to him (even with an indicating icon) he could focus more on giving his songs a bit more polish on camera cuts, less on reductions and more on the overall finalized product that would reach a lot more people.

I think my next step in learning all this will be creating venues for songs like this cause, it's the number 1 thing preventing me from adding full band customs now that making reductions is a thing of the past (mostly) with CAT.

I've already been sharing CAT reduced charts from other posters in their own threads. If they chose to clean up their work a little further, I'd be glad to take that work into my own packs.
