If you have vocals in the song, put the audio track on vocals instead of backing, pute mute on backing and the bug is gone.

I can probably do talky vocals on them, hopefully with this new info I can make these into decent sounding songs, thanks for the info Farottone :excited:

I think somebody figured out what it was since I discovered it, which was a couple of years ago, but I very very rarely do 2 instruments songs (that's then the bug happens, it depends on the number of instruments) so I never investigated it much.

Thank you Farottone for letting me know about this bug/workaround, tried a song last night & got normal sounding audio for the first time with these files after many :bang: attempts.

Hey man, thanks for your commitment to this, really great to see somebody who doesn't have the skill to author but who still wants to give back and get involved. Kudos!

I Agree with farottone on this, these audio files sound great in game. Onemancoverbands work has saved me from scrapping songs where the audio was absolutely atrocious. Good job

Thanks for the kind words Farottone + Spindoctor. :)

I've been longing (hell-bent) on getting the entire music game library together under one engine. Phase Shift (singers not welcome) seemed like the no-brainer, since it was so easy to work with. When the devs laughed off the idea of vocals being relevant to code for such a small team, I was furious. (broken-hearted) So after I poked around on a certain 360 board, got into the pre-c3 community of playing customs, it all kind of just fell into place. Someday I will chart. No doubts there, it's just when reaper stops looking like a physicist's math equation, and more like a sound editor I know, that it will happen. I tend to use pretty basic/simple stuff, so anything with lots of shiny buttons tends to overwhelm me quick. lol

As for the audio talent, that just came from watching a lot of vids on how to use things, and getting a lot of advice from a former local radio station jockey about mixing, etc. I'm thinking of maybe opening a different thread under song requests maybe, for offering basic audio cleaning in my downtime, for anyone who wants me to try my hand at making their music files sound (possibly) better.

Lastly, the rest of the unnecessary covers pack is on hold while I take care of some other collab tracks first. Hint: It does not contain Moar Muse.

Just thought I should mention I've uploaded some new tracks, and updated my first GH80s remaster. I tried a slightly new technique on these by using the aptly named "3db" rule of thumb, and using references to try to match them to their cd/lp masters. Less muddy WUMP WUMP bass/drum mix, and more averaged out. You can hear the guitar on the warrior finally. lol

Accept - Balls to the Wall
Iron Maiden - Wrathchild
Oingo Boingo - Only a Lad
Winger - Seventeen
Asia- Heat of the Moment

And with a fresh coat of paint: Scandal - The Warrior version 2

A fresh coat of paint is always good, will try that one out soon

Holy crap I never noticed the Sing Star series songs. I'm all over a couple of those, can't wait to get them out fully charted.

EDIT oh bummer I thought they came with some sort of vocal MIDI file from Singstar :(

Heh, sorry, I'm just an audio guy. Ripping encrypted mids from a file structure I know nothing about is nigh impossible I'm afraid. Although I have to wonder, wouldn't a standard mid with the 'vocals' charted, found on the net, be kind of the same thing, or not?

Yes, and it would also have harmonies. Singstar files are pretty much useless, since they are less accurate and the songs featured are easily available in MIDI format.
