New Full Band Release
Alice in Chains - "Put You Down"

Drums graciously provided by Mr Canuck, but the fills and ODs were placed by me - if they are problematic, it is my doing. Big thanks go out to CrazyCanuck for providing the drums in my last four Alice in Chains Full Band New Releases over the past couple of months. If not for him, they would not have been released any time soon - I would have sat on them while trying to fill out other incomplete customs. Thanks Canuck!! :c00l:

Aw shucks!
I'll pass the love onto my son. While I was working on my songs, he did all the work on the AiC's. And then he checked over all mine :)

LOVING THE AiC!!!! These are so good, i was skeptical about playing non harmonix made songs but i cant tell the difference!!!!! Really well charted guitars and the most fun i've ever had singing vocals :) Will you ever be releasing Rain When I Die, Down In A Hole, Sickman, Junkhead, What The Hell Have I? or Nutshell?
Also have to give a shout out to STP's Still Remains, that was on my wishlist back when the first rock band came out!!! :)
Thank you again for your hard work.

Wow, thanks! I'm really glad you like them so much! If I could, I would chart every song they made, but time doesn't allow it. There will be more to come, I can promise you that much.

Lovin' your avatar. :c00l:

Colonel i found this website http://www.karaoke-version.com/ its has some really decent AiC isolated tracks (Cover of course) But they sound great, the got me wrong multitracks are spot on!!! I've come up with an idea for a huge "As Made Famous By" project to get a huge amount of multitrack songs into rock band. If i buy the alice in chains ones will you chart and make them. I wouldn't trust AiC with anyone else ;)

Here's my project link below.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, but my instinctive reaction is what it's always been toward charting covers, which is no. It's a balancing act to be sure, but I'll take "playing" the original song by the original artist over the muting of a missed note on a "really close version" any day. That's just me, though, and I may be in the minority.
Good luck with the project!

+1: A bigger minority than you might think.

jeez i just thought it would be a nice way for people to enjoy more multitrack songs...

It's a nice gesture, for sure, but in our polling and experience both prior to and during C3, most people prefer original artist w/ no multis to cover artist w/ multis. In comes down to the author's tastes, as well, and if the author wants originals, they'll want originals. :)

Stems from a high quality cover that fits the original song can have their use in charting muddied parts, mind you, but that will vary song to song much as it does with .mid files.

You thought so, other people don't, no harm done to anybody.

Oh, it is, and there are folks here who would appreciate that very much, but it has to be something you want to do more than something you think the community might want. If you dig on multi-tracks, chart 'em up and share them! Some folks will DL them, some won't, but I think charting any song has to be something you do more for yourself than anything else, at least in the beginning. :)

Oh hell no. *grabs popcorn*

Big mistake dude. You should at least find out whose party it is before you talk shit about the host and drink selection :-)

colonel awesome work! I was wondering if i was allowed to do some playthroughs of your songs on my youtube channel? Its mostly isolated tracks from guitar hero and rock band for people to play along too but i was thinking of going in a different direction. I have over 14,300 subscribers at the moment, maybe turn some of them into rock banders :)

I have no problem with that - any publicity is good publicity! :)

Not sure about the copywrite issue - might be something someone with more youtube experience can answer.
Also, I don't hear the song audio when I play the clip, just the audience(!) - all your other videos sound fine. It's like the song was removed from the audio of this clip! Anyone else have the same issue?

That's hilarious. Maybe the song was compiled with blank audio? Or the attenuation levels were a "bit" high on Magma?

It's not a problem with the custom itself, that works fine. Not sure how the video's audio was rendered, but I'm pretty sure he heard the song while playing it!

But how did they remove the song but not the effects and crowd noise?

Subtract waveform. They have a fingerprint of the waveform to match, I suppose they use the same technology to automatically silence the track. Now, THAT we need to do karaoke versions. :)
