Congrats on your new endeavour! One more comment on Neverending Story is that I'm afraid it's actually too easy. :) There's a synth that essentially carries the main theme of the song that's been left out. I realise it's probably a nightmare to chart, but it's also an essential part of the song. ;)

I know I'm the last person you probably want to hear this from, but I believe that's actually just a pre-recorded synth section that plays in the background (probably a push button done by the keyboard guy when the song starts)....the real keys are the sustained ones, as seen in this vid (as well as if you watch any live performance and see if the keyboard guy is ever moving that fast run scale sounding section, if that's what you are talking about)...

live vid..where you'll see him one handed playing the sustained chords at the beginning:

Also seen in this one at 1:13...

and this one at the beginning when you can see the key guys hands on the keys:

Now if you wanted it really hard for the difficulty and fun, you could chart it, but to do what the real keyboardist does when he plays it live, the chords appear to be the correct charting, at least in my opinion from looking at vids of the actual guy on the keys. Kinda curious now what the sheet music would show....that could be either...lol

Thanks for the confirmation on the keys section and I'm willing to clean up the vocal lyrics and pitches for the female harmonies. Oddly when I downloaded the lyrics there were no hyphenations on "Neverending". I will stretch that out to the other tubes.

ok, think some work may need to be done on both the female and the male sections in the bridge leading up to the "Neverending Story" chorus....the guy's part to me seems right when he's by himself, but when they start to harmonize, I'm finding to stay in the lanes, I'm singing her notes and if go down to match him, it's not matching the lanes at all, so I think his lanes honestly need to come down in that area possibly...maybe someone else that has a good ear for following the male part there can also confirm....my wife says that the female in the same section does indeed need to come up a slight bit higher in pitch, but she says everything in the "Neverending Story"...and the ahhhh parts seem right on. So seems it's mainly the harmonizing bridge areas is where the work is needed vocally. :) Hope that helps some.

EDIT: went and found a youtube vid of a midi version showing sheet music...seems they are on different notes, mostly moving the same way, but on sheet music (not sure if you are familiar with reading it), but where she'd be on a G, he'd be on an E (the next line/2 notes in the same scale down)

though it's a remix version, melody is the same....here's the vid (if it helps)

Updated Never Ending Story to version 2. I did not touch the solo vocal track at all. Harm 1 track I moved all the male singers pitches from G to E. Cleaned up the lyrics by taking out all the commas and fixed the "Neverending" lyrics tubes. I wasnt sure to move the male singers pitches for the chorus so I left those the same for now. Its still progress. :haw:

EDIT: Just tried it, for Limahl's part, that change seems much better from what I can tell at this point. :) I'll get you more feedback tonight after my wife is home where we can actually play together with her testing the female parts.

Your welcome. I saw them live last year and they put on a great show. I plan to chart some other punk bands that arent in the game yet but for now I'm working on Ween "Bananas and Blow". Hopefully it will be done by this weekend.

Just tested the new version (NES) with the wife...definitely much better. I know this is a bit anal, but is there any way you can completely take out the last "Neverending Story" lyrics and lane (the final time it shows it)...you have the music in there that fades out, and by the time it gets to that part, the music is so faded, you can't even hear the singers, so singing there is quite pointless (and if you have anyone that sings it that's not a singer comfortable with hearing themselves or others hearing them, they'll mess up that last spot...if they do it at all, killing the last score spot)....would be best cut off at the last time the female does the Ah Ah Ah section. If it's not too much trouble, think it'd just make the ending a bit better for anyone who plays it.

No problem. Will take out the last chorus of the song so people dont have to hear their own voices while the song audio is fading out.

Update: Took out the last chorus to NES.

OK, now some guitar feedback.

I'd honestly bring the 4 note sections you have through the song down to start on green...there's a higher note later in the song that you have on orange, so it'd make more sense to start in the lower 4 vs the upper slid 4. Now with that said, the note sequence is still wrong.....at the moment you have it a straight trail up (red, yellow, blue, orange)....if it stayed the same spot, it really should be red, yellow, orange, blue.....or if you move it down like I think it'd seem better, it'd be green, red, blue, yellow. The first two notes move up by a step, then the next one actually goes two steps up, then the last comes down by one step, but it's still higher pitched than the second...so a 1, 2, 4, 3 combo IMO seems more the correct movement of the audible notes.

Now I say this knowing game limits...though in real technical side, the background that was mentioned by one of the C3 guys is a pre-recorded section, the cords are what the guy will play with either hand when that's all he plays (as seen in the vids I posted to you), then that 4 note section you have on guitar early on, he'd play with the right hand on the keys on the upper register of the keyboard while the left does the chords..all while the pre-recorded section still keeps repeating it's loop). :)

I may fix the 4 note guitar part but its not high priority. Actually I've been so busy lately starting a new job I just haven't been motivated to finish up my latest song. I will try again to get it out by the weekend. These customs would go so much quicker if I just stuck to one instrument but I feel its necessary to make them full band even if I'm not incredible strong at charting certain instruments.

I thought the same thing but was worried that I was hearing it wrong. Glad it's not just me.

Cool song, though from looking at the preview video it seems big parts of the Guitar and Keys chart are off sync, so be sure to fix that. I would also say to find a way to make sure the rhythm in your charts are more accurate as it often seems like only the Drums are really in-sync for the entire song a lot of the time, and you should study some RB2-era Harmonix charts to see how to make your Guitar Solo charting more fun and accurate.

I'm not claiming to be any guru when it comes to charting but I am giving it a try. I'd be more comfortable with just charting drums and vocals which I like the most. I realize guitar, bass, keys arent my strong points but I feel its necessary to attempt them in order to make it a full band and please as much people as possible.

Thx for B&B, I really only play drums, but I'm sure it is appreciated that the attempt on guitar/keys is being made. If there was enough popularity for the song, posting the RPP and MP3 might get somebody's help or possibly a more detailed input.

Stoked on the next punk song you make. :)

Much appreciated for the positive vibe. I'm mainly doing this for myself but if a few people like what I do then thats all that matters. Updated the OP with Fear "New York's Alright If You Like Saxophones". :c00l:

Updated the OP with Three's Company Theme song. If there is anything wrong with the pitches and such I have no problem making changes. Same goes for the other instruments. Enjoy!
