"Keep It Greasey" t takes the form of an upbeat funk tune driven by a jumpy rhythm section with time signatures varying between 4/4, 19/16 and 21/16. A fun thing to play live, it became part of Zappa's set in August 1978 and was regularly performed for ten years. On the album version it was augmented by a lengthy outro instrumental solo section in 19/16. The guitar solo, one of Zappa's strangest, was taken from an unrelated live song and pasted in this one (a process he called xenochrony). So the interaction between soloist and band never actually happened.
